5 Day 2012

This year 5 day seemed a bit more challenging though
that could be just my own, tired opinion.

The fairgrounds felt like The Dustbowl, in fact many of my photos
were trashed due to the high dust content interfering with my subjects.
Horses were feisty. Even the usually serene ones. Some came up lame.

There was a general sense of tension in the air.
Perhaps it was the lack of rain. Or expectations too high.
The demands of doing so much in 3 short months
can skew our ability to just enjoy each moment.

The heat lingered but bearably so.

Thanks go out to the little guys for hanging in there with us
through some long, hot days and evenings.

Please note that if you do not see your child in this or any of my
5 day posts, do forgive me.
Between the dust making shooting a problem during riding
and having 3 kids and 2 fairly psycho horses to look after,
I know my selections may appear stacked.
My focus (selfishly) was my children and if your child rode in the same class,
you may see them on this blog.

Thanks again to Paul
for everything he does to make 5 day
all that it is for us!

These two horses win most improved in my opinion, knowing where they have been
and how far they have come.
A good bonding point considering they are getting married,
according to Adrianna.

I love 5 day and get that sad feeling on Tuesday,
knowing it will be next year before we have the opportunity
to learn so much in such a short period of time.

Stay tuned. I have many, many pictures.
And some stories to match.
